MTSU Student Alliance Screens Kony 2012
This event is being organized by the local chapter of Invisible Children and the UN Student Alliance, two MTSU student organizations that invited Invisible Children’s representatives to talk about the atrocities that have been happening in Central Africa for more than 26 years. Aromorach Agnes is one of sixteen Ugandans showing Invisible Children’s newest film, KONY 2012, around the country. Each Ugandan has lived through a brutal conflict in Uganda and is now advocating on behalf of the three countries that are still terrorized by Joseph Kony’s rebel force, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Aromorach Agnes’ whole village was forced into displacement camps because of the conflict. The 24-minute documentary, KONY 2012, explains the importance of civic engagement and tells youth how they can help stop the man who is arguably the worst war criminals in the world.
