Young Professionals Field Trip

Destination:  Cordell Hull Birthplace State Historic Park

The Nashville Cordell Hull Chapter of the UNA-USA is pleased to announce the formation of a Young Professionals Group. This Field Trip is the Group’s first event.  Meet other young professionals who are interested in international affairs.

Observe the birthplace home of Nobel Laureate, “Father of the United Nations” and former US Secretary of State, Cordell Hull.

Participants will meet in the parking lot of Belmont United Methodist Church, located at 21st Avenue South and Acklen, in Hillsboro Village (Nashville) for a two-hour drive to Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland Plateau. Once in the park, they will enjoy a tour of the museum, archives facility and birthplace cabin, and see a short park film.  Interested persons may also go on a ranger-led hike down to historic Bundum Cave (2.5 miles roundtrip).

Transportation is provided. The schedule is as follows:

8:00 a.m., Depart church parking lot
10:00 a.m., Arrive park; do walking tour, see archives, watch park film.
12:30 p.m., Lunch at a local restaurant named “Dutch Treat”
(cost borne by each participant)
1:30 p.m., Depart for Nashville
3:30 p.m., Arrive church parking lot
