Young Professional’s Film Screening “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide” Part II

Part II:  January 16, 6:30–8:30 pm

The Young Professionals Group will meet to view this highly acclaimed documentary. It is based on the bestselling book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. This documentary confronts global oppression and finds meaningful solutions through health care, education, and economic empowerment for women and girls. The film reveals the linked problems of sex trafficking, forced prostitution, gender-based violence, and maternal mortality, which needlessly claim one woman every 90 seconds, and presents opportunities to make a change.

The video will be held in two parts due to the length of the film. The film will begin at 6:30 pm each day. Please join us a few minutes early to enjoy pizza and salad.

Location is the large, upscale media center of the Downtown Cumberland Apartments (555 Church Street, Nashville TN 37219-2352). The Downtown Nashville Public Library (next door) will be the best place to park.
