Tim Stewart, Director of Service-Learning at Belmont University, has a B.A. in Communication from Vanderbilt University and a M.A. in International Communication from American University in Washington, D.C. He served as Director of the Student YMCA and International Director for the YMCA of Nashville and Middle TN from 1991 —2001. In these positions, he helped involve area college students in the work of the YMCA’s Urban Services and managed the local YMCA’s international exchange programs with YMCAs around the world. From 2002 – 2009, Tim served as Coordinator of Community Service and Assistant Director of International Education at Belmont University. In 2009, he became the Director of Service-Learning at Belmont, helping faculty develop service experiences projects related to their course learning objectives, while continuing to serve as a conduit to connect groups and individuals with needs in the community. He has been a member of the Nashville Chapter of the UNA for nearly 20 years, serving as president from 2000 – 2004. He serves or has served on various other boards and committees including Book’em and Begin Anew, among others. He is married to Lucinda and has two children in college, Benjamin and Emily.
